AHP, Wedding Photographer of the Year…nomination

What a proud day for everyone at Adam Hillier Photography. Today we found out that we had been nominated by several of our Bride and Groom’s for Wedding Photographer of the Year, an award that with our modest approach we would never have put ourselves forward for.

I have been lost for words all day, I am fully aware that we create fantastic relationships with our bride and grooms throughout the adventure of their wedding photography and create images that will live with them forever, but i have been really touched that our clients have gone out of their way to nominate us for such an award.

Having read about this award that we have been nominated for, it is refreshing that this isn’t about a single image – its about the whole experience of working with us from start to finish – this is something that we are very focused on so the recognition is fantastic.

Parkway Shopping Centre Commercial Photography

Adam Hillier Photography has been commissioned to take the official commercial photography of the new Parkway Shopping Centre in Newbury Berkshire, prior to and throughout its official opening on Thursday the 27th October.

Newbury is set in the beautiful countryside in West Berkshire, located on the Kennet and Avon canal, Newbury is historically a small, traditional market town. Over the past years the town has grown in size and significance, and as the residents of Newbury will know, the historical landscape and skyline of the town has been changing over the past 18 months with the development of the new Parkway Shopping Centre . It started with a single crane…….. one single crane

Our commercial photography service will be used to take the photographs of the new shopping centre in Newbury on Tuesday, capturing the new architecture, landscaping, retail shop fronts and full interior prior to being opened to the public. These images are to be used for all of the promotional material and website for the centre.

Then comes the big official opening day on Thursday. We will be photographing the whole event, including the parade of local school children, the opening ceremony and the entire series of exciting events being held throughout the day to mark this exciting day for the new look Newbury town centre.

We have also been commissioned to cover other events happening in and around the new shopping centre throughout the week. It is a fantastic achievement, a great commission for the team at Adam Hillier Photography. The images will be posted in due course.

New Bridal Shop In Newbury

It is with much excitement that Adam Hillier Photography can now recommend a seriously good Bridal Shop in our own town of Newbury, Berkshire.

Mrs Jones, Bridal Boutique has been opened for a little while now and is fabulous – a must visit for any bride. Commercial Photography from Newbury hits the National Press

Commercial Photography by Adam Hillier Photography based in Newbury Berkshire has hit the national press, appearing in The Sun newspaper on Monday the 19th September.

As a result of a commercial photoshoot for the forthcoming movie, Kill Keith, the team at Adam Hillier Photography set about photographing Keith Chegwin posing in the bright yellow suit made famous by Uma Thurman in Quentin Tarantino’s hit movie Kill Bill

Keith Chegwin was a great sport, it was a very funny shoot (the out takes would make for great entertainment), though most would agree that Uma Thurman would win the contest of who wore the suit best!! you can decide for yourself below.

The aim of the shoot was to capture the image to be used on the promotional posters and material for the Kill Keith film being directed by Andy Thompson. The image also features on their website www.killkeith.co.uk.

Some more Happy Bride and Grooms

As we head through the wedding season, it is lovely to reflect on the lasting impression we leave the couple’s after their wedding photography and the impact we have on their special day having read their testimonials and kind words that now feature on our wedding testimonials page.

The approach that we at Adam Hillier Photography have developed leads us to work in a very considerate manner. We focus on ensuring our couples have a nice balance between time spent with having photographs taken and time importantly spent enjoying their day with their family and friends. We are also very conscious that we have a lot more experience at weddings than most people, so we are a friend on the day who can help as a calming influence and have often been the helping hand doing up the bride’s dress, helping younger children relax on the day and keeping the groom chilled.

It appears to be a combination of our photographic approach, our warm attitude to the guests and our relaxed comforting manner throughout the day which combined with the quality of the wedding photography that we produce leaves such a lasting impression with our couples and their guests. The result of this relationship often results in cards, letters and emails of thank you from the couple’s and often their families, it also means a high percentage of our wedding enquiries come from recommendation – which is the ultimate thank you and testimony to what we do being right.

A Beautiful Wedding At Mill Hall, Newbury, Berkshire

After the rain and grey skies on Friday, people would have been understandably nervous about the weather for Kerrie and Tamar’s wedding at Mill Hall, Newbury, berkshire on Saturday. Thankfully the weather was more than kind, the odd ominous cloud loomed and then passed as quickly as it appeared – leaving a wonderful afternoon enjoying the grounds at Mill Hall which as always delivered some beautiful wedding photographs.

Kerry and Tamer, enjoyed a wonderful wedding ceremony at Mill Hall, followed by a wonderfully relaxed reception and meal before partying the evening away. Their two children shone and risked stealing the show with their lovely behaviour helping mummy and daddy enjoy their day.

New recruit at AHP

This week a new recruit has arrived at AHP head quarters, ordinarily a new recruit should help make you more productive, efficient and profitable – well I guess our recruitment process needs some work.

This is Poppy, our new recruit. Helping efficiency – NO, unless efficiency is needing to be taken out for a wee every two minutes. Productive – NO, unless being productive is enjoying plenty of playing and chewing daddys feet under the desk and lastly Profitable – NO, especially if you judge the price of all of the “equipment” she needs and the price of it all.

None the less a very welcome addition to our family probably more so than the business, welcome to the clan Poppy.

Getting married at Wasing Park?

May be you have already booked Wasing Park as your wedding Venue, if not then give it some serious consideration. We are fortunate to photograph many beautiful wedding venues across Berkshire and beyond, but very few have the magic that Wasing Park offers.

It is a superb venue, set in some of the most stunning grounds which are complemented with facilities and rooms that are simply beautiful. The bridal suite, and the guest rooms, are decorated in the ultimate class – the attention to detail and luxury makes getting ready for your wedding or your stay as a guest very special indeed. The ceremony either in the quaint church or the light and airy Garden room provide a wonderful atmosphere – perfect for church or civil ceremonies, then to be followed by a reception area second to none with the beautifully maintained lawns and patio area to the rear of the main Castle Barn.

The castle barn is perfect to accommodate both small and large wedding parties, with a wonderful sense of intimacy and with a great atmosphere. We are lucky to be fed every time we photograph at Wasing Park so in our time we have probably sampled most of the menus – suffice to say the food is simply fantastic. The grounds, the facilities and the food are all complemented by the personal and friendly staff at Wasing – the whole package comes together neatly to consistently deliver weddings which run smoothly and are always very special and memorable.

Love and Laughter fills Wasing Park

Never before have I photographed a wedding between two people so in love and in tune with each other. Photographing the wedding of Michael and Tania was nothing short of a breeze – other than the Tania leaving the house 5 minutes before the wedding ceremony at the beautiful church on Wasing Park was due to start – with a half an hour drive still to go.

Needless to say the day ran behind, but what a day it was. Both the bride and groom decided to surprise the other with a cheeky message written on the soles of their shoes – completely unaware the other was doing the same. This thirst for love and laughter filled the day with a fabulous collection of guests enjoying the couple’s daughter reading a very funny and apt story to start the meal and left crying with laughter through some of the funniest speeches I have witnessed in a long time – even Ant and Dec made an appearance.

We were made to feel more like guests at this genuinely enjoyable day, it was almost sad to leave but I was itching to see what I knew were some stunning images captured of these two people just completely in love – thanks guys and well done.

Hindu Wedding Ceremony at Wasing Park

Last month saw a run of weddings at one of our favourite wedding venues, Wasing Park, near Newbury. Amongst these weddings was a fantastically colourful and vibrant Hindu ceremony, celebrating the marriage of Pablo and Urvisha. Starting with a traditional ceremony in Wasing Park’s Garden Room, the wedding then moved out onto the picturesque lawns. With the sun bearing down, the congregation gathered outside to enjoy the rich traditions of a Hindu ceremony. The happy couple sat, and at times walked around the specially erected Mandap which was beautifully decorated and swathed in reds, oranges and gold as the individual aspects of this ceremony took place.

Following both of the ceremonies, Pablo and Urvisha along with their guests enjoyed a stunning afternoon in the sun, enjoying the beautiful grounds around Wasing Park. This was a day full of fine detail, from the delicate stitching in the colourful sari’s, the stunning jewellery , the beautiful Henna work, the stunning floral displays and on flowed this attention to detail right through the most beautiful day. Congratulations Pablo and Urshiva, and thank you for letting us share a spectacular day.
