Marie Curie Fashion Night Featuring Rachel Adedeji

Last night we were fortunate enough to photograph a great event, Look Good Newbury, an exclusive fashion event raising funds in aid of Marie Curie Cancer Care held at Newbury Manor Hotel.

The event was organised by Sandra Weir, a local Vodafone employee, and what a fantastic job she did. There were lots of local exhibitors including Next, Ann Summers, Body Shop and Outfit, and a host of local companies from Newbury including House of Pole, Mission Hair and Beauty and the well being centre.

4 catwalk shows featured up and coming designers including Laura Moore,  Katharine Jayne, Fifi & Moose and Bei Cappelli. In between the fashion shows was a fantastic set performed by X-Factor’s Rachel Adedeji, with several tracks including a her new single Follow the DJ and a moving cover of Louis Armonstrong’s What A wonderful World dedicated to organiser Sandra who lost her dad to cancer last year.

Music and lighting was provided by Moonraker Disco, Ben and his team did a fantastic job, the music sounded awesome and the lighting was spectacular, I have photographed many weddings and events at Newbury manor but I’ve never seen the place with such a great atmosphere.

Our job was to cover the entire event, social photography of exhibitors preparing for the event, the models in hair and makeup then guests enjoying themselves. We covered the fashion shows and the set by Rachel Adedeji, finally we ran a mobile studio photoshoot for people to have their photo taken with Rachel, she was great fun and a real sport. A brilliant end to a great evening.
