Wedding Photography FAQs

In no particular order, below is a list of wedding photography FAQs that I get asked by my wonderful couples. If the answer to your question is not here then get in touch as I’d love to answer your specific questions. Contact Me Here

The short simple answer is as soon as you know your wedding date & that you have decided that I am right for you. Most couples book 9–18 months ahead, especially for popular dates in summer. If your wedding is on a Saturday in peak season, I recommend securing your date as soon as you know your venue. For weekdays, there’s often more flexibility.

Yes! I regularly photograph weddings throughout the UK and I’m available for destination weddings worldwide. Travel fees vary depending on location, but I keep them transparent and simple.

Whilst no one can ever say never, I take every precaution to remain fit, healthy & avoiding injury. But, illness can strike anyone at anytime, here I am fortunate to belong to a collective of photographers who back each other where possible in emergency situations. If this is unsuccessful then you are protected by your contract.

No. I have a strong belief in being fair and equal to every client, so no one should get a better rate than anyone else. Add to that the very careful consideration that goes into my costings and the vast time I commit to every wedding I am commissioned for, I know my rates are exactly where they should be.

This also gives you peace of mind that no one has booked me for less than you.

Yes I do. It is important to me that you feel comfortable and clear as to what we are both agreeing to. My business is very professional so I have a proper contract in place to give both sides peace of mind and clarity as to all of the details agreed for you

Yes, as a professional photographer I have professional liability insurance,  and always bring backup cameras, lenses, and lighting. Your day is too important to leave anything to chance.

Every couple’s needs are different, so my collections are flexible. Most include full-day coverage, an online gallery with high-resolution images, and printing rights. I also offer options like venue visits, training to feel comfortable in front of a professional camera, signature frames & wedding albums. I’ll walk you through the choices so you get exactly what fits your day.

This may initially sound controversial, but no I don't.

Why?

Typically wedding photographers offer engagement sessions as they are an opportunity of making more money and selling more photographs. The photographs are about to become surplus to requirements as the wedding photographs are inevitably going to mean so much more. But also, and most importantly they don't help you, the couple.

I do things differently. I offer a training/coaching/familiarity session along with the venue visit. This gives me the opportunity of helping you to get comfortable in front of camera. Understanding how I work, but also discussing body language, what feel natural, what's comfortable, and some really helpful hints and tips.

This way you actually get something real from our time together, it helps couples relax, removes stress and anxiety and makes the day much easier - a lot more useful than a few engagement photos in my opinion.

Absolutely. I work with the very best album manufacturers and printers, creating wedding albums so special they become family heirlooms to treasure forever.  I also provide prints, framing & wall art so you can display your favourite images in style.

I can never answer this question, because every wedding is so different. So many variables affect the number of images, but the easiest answer is to say that I do not limit the number of images and nor does the number of images affect the cost of my photography.

Once edited, your wedding photographs will be delivered in your own, private, password protected gallery for yourselves, your family & friends to enjoy. You’ll be able to download, share, and order prints directly.

My turnaround time is typically 4–6 weeks. To keep the excitement alive, I send a selection of sneak peek images shortly after your wedding so you have something to enjoy as you wait.

Probably the most common of our wedding photography FAQs yet some of my favourite photos are taken in unexpected weather.

During the planning phase we plan for bad weather. This means we are mentally prepared (so it doesn't ruin the day or frustrate the mood), and we will also build contingency plans such as indoor locations for group photographs.

Also, as we will be prepared for adverse weather, we can turn the weather into a feature meaning bas weather doesn't have to stop my creativity.

Lastly, you can relax in my experience. Having photographed over 600 weddings, I have seen my fair share of unexpected bad weather, so I can remain calm and flex the plan of the day - so please don't worry about the weather.

Booking is simple: I will send you a quote, on which you can build your perfect package. Once you are happy, you can accept the quote and the system will then take you through contract signing and payment for your deposit - it's all online and super easy. Once you have done this, that's it - the date is yours and secured in my diary.
